Full Description

An anti-aircraft ditch of World War II date can be seen on Felixstowe Marshes on photographs taken in 1944. It consisted of a shallow ditch with piles of upcast at either side and was meant to prevent aircraft from landing on flat open areas of land. The ditch was constructed some time before April 1944 and is still visible for a number of years after the end of the war. (S1) (S2) (S3)
See FEX 104 to FEX 109 and FEX 119 to 120 for other anti-aircraft ditches on Felixstowe marshes.
