Full Description

Two pillboxes can be seen at RAF Bawdsey in 1944, surrounded on their northern side by lengths of barbed wire obstruction. (S1) The barbed wire has been removed by October 1945 but the pillboxes remain. (S2) The pillboxes appear to be hexagonal and may be Type 24 pillboxes (an irregular hexagon in plan with one longer wall). The pillbox to the west (TM33543823) appears to have a secondary concrete wall surrounding it but the other pillbox (TM33603823) is covered in earth so it is difficult tell if it has the same feature. (S3)
