Full Description
A Type 24 pillbox of World War II date can be seen at RAF Bawdsey. It was constructed some time after July 1940 and has a secondary concrete wall surrounding it. It is still visible on photographs taken in 1998 and it is depicted on the modern base map (S1) (S2).
Bawdsey radar station. Type 24 pillbox, with skirt formed by a 13ins high brick retaining wall built 3ft from the pillbox - space filled with sand and 'tiled' with thin concrete sandbags (S3).

This site originally recorded as BAW 118 and duplicated as BAW 179 (now deleted).
