Full Description

A small square feature of unknown function can be seen on photographs taken at RAF Bawdsey from 1940 onwards. The feature appears to have some height in 1940 but by 1944 the feature does not appear to have any height, although there does appear to be a square arrangement of four 'feet', possibly suggesting that the feature was a small antenna related to the development of the Chain Home radar equipment at RAF Bawdsey from 1936 onwards. (S1) (S2) (S3) The foundations of the feature can be seen in 1949. (S4)
