Full Description

A World War II barbed wire obstruction is visible as a structure on aerial photographs from 1944, centred on TM24763499. The barbed wire is roughly 470m in length, and forms 3 sides of an enclosed area, of circa 2.5 hectares. The western side of the enclosure is completed by an existing field boundary, formed by a hedgeline following a drainage channel. There is a gap in the barbed wire, presumably forming an entrance, in the north-eastern corner of the enclosure. It is not clear from the photograph what the function of the enclosure might be. (S1)
