Full Description

A World War II pillbox is visible centred on TM25173374, on photographs from 1944. The structure is approximately 3m square, and is located on the most south easterly point of the peninsular. It has been situated in the centre of a trackway, to overlook as much open land as possible as well as a small inlet in the saltmarsh which would have been vulnerable point, as it forms a sheltered natural landing point. The pillbox has been removed by May 1946. (S1, S2).
