Full Description
A probable World War II pillbox is visible as a structure on aerial photographs from 1941 onwards, situated on Aldeburgh High Street at circa TM46455646 (S1). The pillbox is approximately 5m square in size, and may be a Vickers machine gun pillbox. There also appears to be an addition to the top of the pillbox, possibly a weapons mounting, but it is not possible to be certain from the evidence available. The pillbox is also visible on aerial photographs of 1942, but has been removed by October 1945 (S2, S3).
