Full Description

The possible remains of an abandoned seabank are visible as an earthwork, centred on TM 26593474, in the saltmarsh at the edge of the River Orwelll, Trimley St Mary, in aerial photographs taken from 1944 onwards. The bank is approximately 180m in length and turns inland at its western end. The bank runs parallel to the modern seabank and the river channel. It may be the remains of an abandoned seabank of Post Medieval date. (S1) (S2) (S3)
