Full Description
Post-Medieval flood defences are visible as earthworks on the southern bank of the River Alde in Tunstall parish, on aerial photographs of 1943 onwards, centred on circa TM38175767 (S1). The earthwork is approximately 1.7km long, and extends westwards from circa TM39175760 where it abuts Snape Bridge, to circa TM38045790. The bank may extend further west, but if so, it is obscured by vegetation on the available photographs. (S2).
