Full Description

A possible World War II pillbox is visible as a structure on aerial photographs taken from 1944 onwards, centred on TM 28523297 on land between Carr Road and the railway branch line north of Landguard Point. The pillbox measures 5m by 7m and appears to have two entrances protected by blast walls, one on its northern and one on its eastern side. It may be related to the large structures to the east which are probably gas storage structures. (S1) (S2) (S3)
