Full Description

A number of small pits of unknown date are visible, centred on TM 24753787, in the inter-tidal zone of the River Orwell in Stratton Hall parish on aerial photographs taken in 1944. The pits are clustered together and measure on average roughly 4m by 3m. The function and date of the features are unclear but it seems unlikely that these features could survive in the inter-tidal zone for any length of time. (S1)
