Full Description

A sand or gravel pit of possible Post Medieval date is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs, located at TM 25073929, south of Walk Farm in Stratton Hall parish. The quarry is irregular in shape and nearly 30m in length. It is located just to the west of the probable Bronze Age round barrow (TYN 009) and appear to cut the ditch surrounding the barrow which has been interpreted as being of possible Post Medieval date (see SNH 009). This suggests that the quarry is later than the ditch and also of possible Post Medieval date. (S1) (S2) (S3)
