Full Description

Three short stretches of possible linear bank and a small quarry pit of unknown date are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken from 1944 onwards, on land to the east of Wash Lane, Shotley, centred on TM 22533716. The two short stretches of curvilinear bank to the north, centred on TM 22573721, appear to follow the contours of the slope and may be related to past cultivation or land division in this area. The larger, linear bank to the south measures over 60m in length and is centred on TM 22393695. A small quarry is visible to the south of the bank but the two features may not be related.
