Full Description

A possible Bronze Age round barrow is visible as the cropmark of a ring ditch on aerial photographs, centred on TM 22554002 in a field to the east of Nacton village. The ring ditch appears to be fairly narrow and encloses an area around 26m in diameter. The complete circuit of the ring ditch is not visible and it appears to be slightly sub-circular. The size of the ring ditch suggests that it may represent the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. (S1) (S2) See NAC 076 for the Post Medieval field boundaries and NAC 077 for the undated linear ditches. (S3)
