Full Description
A structure of First World War date is visible on aerial photographs of 1940s onwards, centred on circa TM43474884 on King's Marshes, Orfordness, Orford parish. The structure is a First World War aircraft hangar constructed as part of the early experimental air base, established circa 1915. The building continued in use as part of the experimental munitions and armaments testing base throughout the Second World War (see ORF 021). (S1-S4)
