Full Description

A possible World War II military camp and possible gun pits are visible as structures and earthworks on aerial photographs, centred on TM 19764075 in woodland at Robert's Grove, Nacton. A number of structures, possibly tents, are visible when the photographs are viewed in stereo which probably represent a small military camp. This interpretation is supported by the trunk visible to the east of the woodland and the three weapons pits located to the south. The camp may have had some role in the defence of the airfield.
