Full Description

A possible wreck of unknown date is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1944 and 1946, located at TM 18893929 in the inter-tidal zone of the River Orwell at Woolverstone. The possible wreck is visible as 'boat-shaped' earthwork consisting of an oval hollow 45m in length, flanked at either side by a bank. It is possible that the earthwork has been created where a vessel has sunk into the mud and more silt has built up around the outside. (S1) (S2)
