Monument record BUT 067 - Small section of a possible trackway of unknown date, visible as cropmarks.

A section possible ditch defined trackway or road is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs of circa 1972, centred on circa TM37974971 to the south of Carmen's Wood, Butley parish (S1). The cropmarks are very faint, but may show the previous line of a road or trackway, possibly a continuation of that still visible to the south. No such track or road is marked on the first edition Ordnance Survey map of circa 1884 or any available historic maps, and therefore probably dates from the Post-Medieval period or earlier (S2).
