Full Description

A sea bank of Post-Medieval date are visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs, centred on circa TM118331 in Seafield Bay on the north bank of the River Stour, Brantham parish. The bank is just over 1km long, and is irregular in form which may suggest that it has been breached and repaired several times. It is marked on the Ordnance Survey first edition maps of 1882, placing its construction in the Post-Medieval period or earlier. (S1, S2)
