Full Description

The previous location of a post-mill of probable Post-Medieval date is visible as a cropmark centred on circa TM37535066, Butley parish. The feature takes the form of a circular cropmark circa 28m in diameter, with a probable entrance about 6m wide facing towards the south east. A roughly cross shaped cropmark about 9m long is visible in the centre of the circular cropmark, probably marking the location of the mill's cross beams upon which the mill superstructure would have stood.
