Full Description
A temporary military camp and a possible temporary Radar station are visible as structures on aerial photographs of 1944, centred on circa TM26323924, in a field to the east of Croft Cottage in Trimley St Martin parish. The camp is composed of ridge and marquee tents along the northern and probably western perimeter of the field, alongside which a number of large vehicles are also visible, but have not been plotted. More vehicles are concentrated on TM26333904, around which appear to be arrayed features which may be associated with a temporary Radar station. This may be a precursor or supplementary station to the GCI Radar base immediately to the south (see TYN ???). (S1, S2).
