Full Description
A trench air-raid shelter of Second World War date circa 80 metres long is visible on aerial photographs as an earthwork situated on playing fields to the east of Orwell High School, Felixstowe, centred on circa TM29373524. The trench is zig-zag in shape, designed to limit the effects of a bomb-blast on the shelters inhabitants. It appears to have been accessed by paths from Seaton Road and Margaret Street, to the north and west. (S1, S2)
