Full Description
A military site of Second World War date, probably providing support and defence for the searchlight battery in this area (see MDM 006), can be seen on aerial photographs of 1945 about 250 metres to the north of Withersdale Cross, Mendham parish, centred on circa TM 270812. Two possible pillboxes have been noted, to the south of the searchlight battery and to the north of a possible Light Anti-Aircraft Artillery emplacement at circa TM 27018122. (S1)
