Full Description
A small ring-ditch of unknown date and function is visible as a cropmark approximately 10 metres in diameter on aerial photographs, centred on circa TM 355893, Mettingham parish. The ditch is up to 2 metres in width and may contain an entrance or break on its northern side, but this may be an effect created by the growth of the crop. Ring ditches are often interpreted as the remains of Bronze Age Barrows or round houses of later prehistory, but the small diameter and relatively wide ditch of this site are not typical of either site type.
