Full Description

Possible field boundaries and trackways of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks, centred on TM 369899 to the north-east of The Hall, Mettingham parish. The cropmark complex does match the general orientation of the wider surrounding extant field pattern, and more noticeably that visible on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of circa 1884, but does not display any direct relationship with it. Therefore, while it is possible that the cropmarks are medieval or post-medieval in origin, the evidence from the aerial photographs is inconclusive and the cropmarks remain undated. (S1, S2)
