Full Description

Two earthwork banks, possibly the remains of medieval causeways or field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Beccles Common, Beccles parish. As the surrounding area is largely reclaimed from Beccles Marshes, causewayed paths would have been valuable for dry travel across the marshes. However, neither feature obviously connects with any surviving path or track while both are on alignments similar to the extant surrounding field boundaries and could be the remains of hedge banks.
