Full Description
Myers, in 18th century, refers to significant Roman finds (including pillars, bricks etc) from West Rocks, which are located off the coast near Walton, SE of Landguard peninsula, Essex (pers communication, John Fairclough, Feb 2008).
Verbal report during lecture by Stuart Bacon of `Roman site or fort' from West Rocks SE of Landguard peninsula. Originally Rom coin reported to him, other finds followed (S1). No further details.
West Rocks clearly shown on 1804 map from a survey by Graeme Spence ('Harwich Harbour and Neighbouring Waters').
West Rocks actually off Essex rather than Suffolk coast.
