One possible MSax, Ipswich ware sherd, 4 sherds of Late Saxon-Norman Thetford type ware, 1 sherd LSax-Norman St Neots ware, within larger scatter of Med pottery (S1).

Finds scatter resulting from unsystematic fieldwalk of the three fields involved.

Basil Brown gives a sketch map of the site location and adds "Field with many sherds of Late Saxon or Early Medieval pottery, particulars and plan from Mr Beatty.

'Settlement' sherds etc in pit.

Winter 1986/1987: fieldwalking by John Newman for SE Suffolk survey located Sax & Med pottery scatters, over 30m x 30m area, in "Field 494", adjoining churchyard of old parish church - MTN 010 & Old Church Lane.
