A Roman salt production site or 'saltern' located just to the south of Kirton Creek

Large fragments of Roman roof, floor and flue tile and a few greyware sherds recovered from large ditch on north side of ancient woodland (STS 014).

Scatter of Rom pottery, mainly sandy fabric grey wares (plain bowls - 2 with groove, 1 without, flanged bowl, miscellaneous jars), ? C2 C3 C4, 3 samian fragments, 1 fragmented fragment of box tile, 3 floor tile fragments (S1).

Semi-circular flat-backed bronze ?inset with enamel (lost, possibly red), curvilinear design. Found metal detecting. Formerly recorded as TDM MISC

Archaeological evaluation identified a continuation of settlement activity in the local area.
