Description

Archaeological monitoring was carried out on sixty-three holes for improvements to street lighting at RAF Lakenheath. The scheme involved the excavation of a series of pits in the grass verge, the erection of lamp posts and the connecting of the lights by excavation slit trenches. The postholes measured c.0.6m square and c.0.8m deep. No finds or features were identified during the monitoring.
