Description
Monitoring of the footing and service trenches for an extension on the entrance at the Priory revealed no archaeological features or finds. A single visit was made to the site after the footings for the extension had been excavated and concreted but prior to the laying of brickes, this was caused by a mix-up by the builder. Spoil was examined and from discussion with the builders only the rubble visible on the site had been disturbed. The service trench would not penetrate archaeological levels and plumb into existing drains (S1).
