Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out during the laying of c. 900m of electrical cable ducts across the southern edge of the former airfield site in Ipswich (now the Ravenswood housing estate). A corridor, c. 4m wide, was stripped of topsoil along the entire route of the cable duct and a number of visits were made to examine the surface of the exposed surface of natural subsoil. An estimated 40% of the stripped surface was seen but no features were noted and no artefacts of any period were recovered.
