Description
Monitoring of groundwork associated with the construction of a single dwelling. A series of ground-beam trenches were observed but these did not cut deep enough to expose the natural subsoil. A large pit associated with drainage that was excavated to the southeast revealed the natural subsoil, which comprised of stony gravel, lay beneath a c. 1m thick overburden of grey-brown loam. No archaeological features or finds were recorded.
