Description

Excavation carried out in 1988 in the Cathedral Precinct Yard for an application to build the Cathedral Centre revealed evidence of occupation activity prior to the enclosure of the precinct and its subsequent development as part of the Abbey complex. Additional monitoring of groundworks on the eastern side of the Cathedral Centre were carried out, and the excavation of the footings for an east cloister linking in 2004 (S1).
