Description
A trial trench evaluation was carried out prior to the construction of two new dwellings on the site. Two trenches of 10m by 1.8m were excavated using a mechanical excavator. After the overburden was removed all further investigation was undertaken by hand. Excavated spoil was checked for finds and the trenches were scanned by metal detector (S1).
