Description
Monitoring in advance of swimming pool construction was carried out at 1 Barnaby Green, Southwold, Suffolk. The monitored excavation measured approximately 3.3m by 5.5m and was cut to a depth of 1.5m. The natural subsoil consisted of banded yellow/orange sand and gravel, the upper horizon of which podzolised, and was encountered at a depth of c.0.5m. Occasional late post-medieval/modern intrusions were present but no earlier features or artefacts were identified.
