Description
An archaeological watching brief was carried out on two holes excavated behind building 1290 on the airfield at RAF Lakenheath. These were hand-dug and approximately 70cm square. Both showed a similar soil profile of made-up ground over water-sorted sands. There was no sign of any finds in the spoil.
