Description

Site lay on level area of grass, alongside main runway. A c.12m length of trench and footing pads was seen while open, only a small proportion of the overall development. Trench was 0.8m wide and c.1m deep, with the footing pads measuring c.1.2m by 1.2m. This showed a thin layer of topsoil above the undisturbed natural subsoil of mixed sands beneath which was chalk. 10m length of pipe trench also seen on S edge. Ground was heavily disturbed by previous pipes etc and line of trees along perimeter fence. Nothing seen.
