Description
Concrete was broken and removed from existing paving. C0.3m depth of trench was dug out at which depth natural subsoil was found on the east side of a well (C. 19th century) which was already infield. The well was built using white bricks. Natural consisted of red/brown silt with some degraded chalk close to surface beneath C19th debris. Natural was marginally deeper to the west of the well but the disturbed ground was still made up of recent debris
