Description

Ground disturbance within the village core of Pettistree was monitored. In addition the area to the north east was also examined however this area produced no archaeological finds. Area along the Street, Walnuts Lane and Presmere road was mechanically excavated and left little opportunity for observing archaeological finds or features. The area around the roads was already extensively disturbed. Around the periphery of the village core various lengths (all of which were 6 to 8 meters wide) were stripped of 200/250mm of topsoil prior to pipe-laying.
