Description
Contractor had been on site for 5 days previously as part of the demolition of fire damaged rear of the house. Ground level to the rear of the building had been droped by c0.8m. Footings already concreted. There was obvious signs of intrusions into the brown clayey sand natural but all appear to be late Medieval or later (large amounts of brick and tile). Spoil already dispursed of off site. No sign of an earlier feature or material.
