Description

Between the 4th and 5th of March 2014, Oxford Archaeology East carried out an evaluation on Land off Steeles Road, Woolpit, Suffolk. This was in advance of the proposed demolition of existing buildings, to be followed by the construction of new housing. The evaluation revealed few archaeological remains. These comprised a single ditch and a natural hollow. A single sherd of pottery, probably of Iron Age date, was found in the natural hollow. In addition, several stuck flints were also recovered.
