Description
Trial trench evaluation prior to development. Thirty eight trenches were excavated, two quary pits were recprded but no finds were recovered, no other archaeological features were encountered. The natural horizon across the site generally comprised light whitish grey-brown sandy silt and chalk, with patches of medium orange-brown sandy silt. This was overlain by topsoil which was mid-orangey brown sandy silt between 0.30m and 0.32m thick (S1).
