Description

Fieldwalking and metal detecting surveys were undertaken prior to evaluation by trial trenching in advance of a proposal to develop the site. The field was separated in five north-south transects set c.10m apart and systematically walked, first looking for artefacts on the exposed surface and then using the metal detector. No pre-modern evidence was recovered during the two surveys (S1).
