Two trial trenches were excavated prior to the construction of two buildings to the rear of Mulley’s Garage. The trenches were excavated using a mechanical digger. The features and trench profiles were cleaned and recorded by hand. The evaluation identified features dated from Roman to Post-Medieval. Further excavation work was determined to record all of the archaeological deposits which were to be damaged by construction work (S1).
