Description

A Roman coin hoard was reported to Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service after it was found during metal detecting. A small excavation was carried out on the findspot. The site was located in the middle of an arable land field. The small hole had been excavated to a depth c.0.2m by the metal detectorist. The excavation consisted of a 2m squared sondage. This was excavated by hand and was centred upon the find spot (S1)
