A fieldwalking survey was carried out to gather baseline archaeological information to the site. An area measuring in total c.7.7 hectares was fieldwalked. The land had been ploughed and harrowed in preparation of the survey and conditions were considered good. The survey was based on the establishment of 20m transects and the systematic collection of surface artefacts within a 2m-wide corridor along each transect. Findspots were plotted using GPS (S1).
