Description
Pre-determination trial trench evaluation was carried out ahead of residential development on a 1.92ha site. Ten trenches were excavated to a depth of 0.48m-1.08m. The topsoil was a friable, dark reddish brown silty sand with frequent flint. IT overlay subsoil, a friable, mid reddish brown silty sand with moderate flint. Underneath were natural deposits of loose, pale brownish red mixed sand and gravel (S1).
