Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on the excavation of a drainage trench, prior to the construction of an office unit. A total of 6 visits were made to the site to observe the main drainage trench. Subsidiary trenches were not examined as they did not penetrate through the made ground. Access to the trench was not possible due to health and safety considerations and recording was undertaken from the existing ground surface. The trench was excavated to a maximum depth of c.3m. No finds or features of archaeological interest were identified, although the was considered potential for the survival of timber structures in the area(S1).
