Description
Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out at The Swan public house and Duck Cottage in advance of the construction of a single-storey rear extension. In total 28.5m of foundation trenches were excavated each 1-1.1m deep. The trenches were excavated through modern topsoil c0.28m thick and a medium brown silty subsoil c0.7m onto natural orange sands and gravels (S1).
